Pakistan challenging India’s unity, says Jaitley
Addressing the BJP’s “Tiranga Yatra” here, the minister said Pakistan was once again at war with India “using new methods” of spreading unrest and inciting violence among masses in the Kashmir Valley.

This development comes after the Jammu and Kashmir opposition submitted a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday over the unrest in the Valley stating that it needed a “political” solution and asserted that Pakistan was not exclusively responsible for the state of violence.
Jammu: A day after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley criticised Nehruvian model of development, saying it had held the country back, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday termed Jammu and Kashmir a glaring example of the “failure” of Nehru’s political model.
“They (stone pelters) are not satyagrahis but aggressors”. If a troop of 8-10 police personnel is attacked by 200 men with 10, 000 stones what else is that except an attack.
Describing it as a “major challenge”, he said, “today in such a challenge, the need of the country is that we don’t compromise with the integrity and security of the nation”. “Pakistan and various other forces are involved in it, and the country’s unity has been challenged once again”, Jaitley said, adding that people of Jammu and Kashmir should jointly fight against this aggression.
Singh said that raising issue of Human Rights abuses in Balochistan was necessary for the “self defence” of the country, as the situation in the neighbourhood directly affects us.
“Secondly, as Jammu and Kashmir has faced violence and wars, it needs development which was denied for past 60 years by National Conference and Congress governments. And third, as BJP has a stronghold in Jammu, Nirmal Singh should think about gathering resources from the Centre to contribute to the state’s development”, Jaitley said.
While PM Modi took the opposition on board regarding the unrest in the state, a section of the opposition has accused the Central government of having no policy with regard to dealing with the unrest.
“But after those terrorists were getting eliminated, it adopted anew strategy. In 2008 and 2010, they gave the new face of stone pelting to their proxy war and that is what is happening in the valley this time also”.
Pakistan tried to internationalize Kashmir but world was not ready to listen to them, after defeats in two war. So they started sending in terrorists and started this phase.

He said that post 9/11 attacks on America, the world came to know about the menace of terrorism and Pakistan stood exposed as an incubator of terrorism.
