Prime Minister said that there could not be any compromise on national security on Jammu and Kashmir. He made these comments in a four-hour long meeting of all parties, reported India’s NDTV.
Speaking to the press after the meet, Singh blamed Pakistan-sponsored terror groups for fueling the situation in Kashmir. India is occupying Kashmir illegally but even its brutalities in the valley could not affect the Kashmiris movement of independence.
The spokesperson said the capture of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Bahadur Ali is yet another proof of Pakistan’s continued involvement in cross-border terrorism and infiltration into India, despite several assurances that it will not allow its territory to be used for terrorism against any other country.
He also expressed satisfaction that irrespective of the difference in approach and opinion, all parties unanimously voiced their support to resolve the current crisis.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi gestures as he addresses a gathering in New Delhi, India, January 16, 2016.
Modi asked the external affairs ministry to contact expats from PoK to gather information about the “pitiable conditions” in the region and apprise the global community.
Rajnath Singh said the Centre would soon finalise the details of financial package of Rs 80,000 crores to the development of the State. “There will be no lowering of guard as far as security is concerned”, said Jaitley.
The Government’s efforts include reaching out to the civil society and speed up measures to integrate Kashmir’s youth with the State’s economic activities.
He said while there can be no compromise on national security, “we have to win the confidence of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir”.
Ali had remained in touch with LeT’s “operations room” before his arrest in July and received instructions to carry out an attack in India, the Indian government claimed, adding it was prepared to grant the Pakistan High Commission consular access to Ali.
The opposition believes banning pellet guns will be a good beginning to an outreach aimed at correcting what it has called a “trust deficit”.
