Appreciating the role of Parliament, Supreme Court and the military courts in elimination of the scourge of terrorism from Pakistani soil, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday said the solutions to all problems facing the country were possible only through the mutual co-operation of all institutions, while upholding the democratic values.
The minister sent his resignation to the Prime Minister after the government distanced itself from his statement and media heavily criticised him for “maligning” the army.
Senior leader of PTI, Asad Umer said before Mushahidullah Khan, PML-N’s Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif also leveled allegations of treason and conspiracy against the former ISI chief.
The Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan on Saturday tendered his resignation over his statements he made in an recent interview with BBC.
According to the spokesperson, the tape in question does not exist. “When Zahirul Islam confirmed it, he was asked to leave”, said Senator Mushahidullah Khan.
Mushahid Ullah had claimed a recording of Zaheer giving instructions on spreading unrest was presented to army chief Gen. Raheel Sharif by the prime minister. Mr Sharif’s government took office after Pakistan’s first ever civilian transfer of power. “Such rumours are irresponsible and unprofessional”, he said in a tweet.
The PTI leader also asked the prime minister to stop the “good cop bad cop drama” and said he should clear his stance by taking action against his ministers for levelling false allegations if he disagrees with them.
