Pakistan PM views Oscar-nominated film on honor killings

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to act against the “despicable” practice known as honor killing after viewing an Oscar-nominated documentary about the issue.

Separately, Premier Nawaz called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday and discussed overall situation in the country, including progress on the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other energy projects. Several parliaments in the world are partially run on solar energy, including the Reichstag in Berlin, the houses of parliament in Canberra, Australia, and Israel’s Knesset, which has one of the largest solar panels in the world.
