Party workers and activists belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-N and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had also gathered outside the Election Commission office. The situation nearly escalated, with the party workers coming face-to-face and chanting slogans against each other. Khan who had been defeated by Sadiq in the constituency had claimed of widespread rigging.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Saturday said he accepted the tribunal’s judgment over NA-122 case, adding that the tribunal had held election machinery responsible for irregularities.

It is to be mentioned here that proceedings of Imran Khan’s petition remained suspended for a year. The court on November 20, 2014, recalled the stay order and allowed the tribunal to proceed with the case.
