The International Cricket Council (ICC) has provisionally suspended Pakistan’s Yasir Shah after being charged with a doping violation. Shah picked up 3 consecutive five-wicket hauls in 3 Tests against Sri Lanka. The 29-year-old has emerged as a match-winner for Pakistan since ace spinner Saeed Ajmal’s action was reported and subsequently lost his wicket-taking ability with a remodelled action.
Suddenly, however, things have taken a bad turn, as a result of a random test conducted on the sidelines of an ODI between Pakistan and England last month in the UAE.
“The sample Yasir provided in an in-competition test, which was conducted on 13 November 2015, was found to contain the presence of chlortalidone…” the governing body said in a statement. Yasir surely is one of the key members of Pakistan across formats.

Just two days before, ICC had informed Sri Lankan cricket authorities that Kusal Perera would be slapped with a four-year ban for failing a dope test. He can request for his B sample to be tested, and if that test does not confirm a positive result then the entire test will be considered negative and the suspension will be lifted with immediate effect.
