Pakistan take series after Malahaide washout

Ireland were completely flattened in the first match at Malahide, losing by 255 runs, and would have liked this second chance to show their real worth, but it was not to be thanks to the weather.

This was the seventh largest victory, in terms of runs, in the 3,767 match history of one-day internationals.

Pakistan will be looking to secure a series whitewash when they take on Ireland in the second and final one-day global in Dublin on Saturday.

Official Twitter account of Cricket Ireland announced the bad news for both teams and fans.

With this positive note, Pakistan will go into England ODI series which starts August 24.

The second One-Day International between Ireland and Pakistan at Malahaide was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Saturday (August 20).

Sharjeel Khan has been named as player of the series after his excellent knock of 152 in the first game This was his maiden century at this level.

Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim then claimed his career-best figures of 5-14 while veteran fast bowler Umar Gul bagged three wickets conceding 23 runs as the hosts were skittled out for just 82 in 23.2 overs.
