Pakistan to tour Zimbabwe for 2 T20s and 3 ODIs

The planned tour comes after Pakistan hosted Zimbabwe in May and June, the first visit to the country by a Test-playing team in six years.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday, brushing aside speculations of pacer Muhammad Amir’s inclusion against Zimbabwe, said it has not even considered him to be a part of the national team.

Reported by sources, the PCB has confirmed that tour will take place as per schedule mentioning that T20 matches will be played before ODIs in last week of September.

Pakistan on Wednesday agreed to play a limited-overs tour of Zimbabwe comprising two Twenty20s and three One Day Internationals starting in September, after plans for a tri-series involving the West Indies were scrapped. September 30 is the deadline for qualification for the 2017 Champions Trophy.

After the recent win over Sri Lanka, Pakistan rose in the ODI ranking to eighth position with 90 points, while West Indies are ninth with 88 points. “The management of our respective boards will now continue to fine-tune the tour schedule”, Zimbabwe Cricket chief Wilson Manase said.

Manase also commented on the West Indies tour of Zimbabwe saying he is in touch with the Windies counterpart.
