Pakistan won’t play series in India, says PCB chief
PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan has stated that it will not be feasible for Pakistan to play the proposed bilateral series in India as suggested by Indian cricket board (BCCI).

ISLAMABAD: Ruling out Pakistan cricket team’s likely tour to India for a bilateral series, Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday said he will strongly oppose all kinds of trips to the archrivals in the future.
“He said that the Indian board would devise a formula to ensure that we don’t suffer any loss of revenues for playing our home series in India”, he added. We have already gone twice in 2007 and 2012, this time around we want it in our home venue, which is UAE. “But he said they wanted to play the series in India and not in the UAE”, Shaharyar told reporters here.
According to the memorandum of understanding signed in 2014 between the two boards, Pakistan were meant to host India for a home series comprising two Tests, five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals.
However, the PCB is still awaiting a formal proposal which Khan had asked of Manohar during their telephone conversation last Friday.
Khan was also of the opinion that the issue would eventually be decided not by the PCB, but by the Pakistan government. If Pakistan agree to travel to India, telecast rights would be a bone contention between the two boards.
It is also believed that the two boards are at loggerheads with regards to broadcast rights with Pakistan having a tie-up with Ten Sports, while Star India have a pact with BCCI.
Rajeev Sethi, Ten Sports chief executive, said he was not anxious at the moment. “Why should we be?” “We’ll be happy if this tournament happens”.
I really do believe that if he is fit and delivering, there should be no reason or calls for him to leave the team, Sohail said.

Misbah has put off a final decision on his retirement plans from Test cricket but the PCB chairman Shahayar Khan has said he would like to see the experienced batsman continue as captain for the tour to England in July-September next year. “What I can say as per our contractual agreement with the PCB is that we are the host broadcasters. We have complete faith in the power of our relationship (with the PCB)”.
