Reportedly, people were busy shopping for Eid at the center when the explosion took place.
Police and rescue officials confirmed that three people were killed on the spot, while two others were injured.
The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta where emergency was imposed to provide urgent treatment to those critical.
According to Quetta Capital City Police Officer Razzak Cheema, the bomb was planted in a motorcycle parked in the area. Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Malik Baloch taking notice of the blast has sought reports from the authorities concerned.
The explosion occurred at Bacha Khan area, a business centre, in the heart of the provincial capital Quetta.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
At least three labourers were killed in what appears to be a targeted attack in Pasni district on Sunday.
All the three victims belonged to Khanewal district of Punjab.
Two others also received bullet injuries during the firing incident.
The desperately poor province is also riven by sectarian strife and Islamist violence in its northern Pashtun belt, with middle-class Baluch increasingly viewing independence as their only hope for a more liberal and secular state.
