Pakistani, Indian troops trade fire, killing 3 in Kashmir
Four civilians were killed on Tuesday in heavy exchanges of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops along their border in the south of the disputed territory of Kashmir, officials from the rival sides said. Punjab Rangers’ befitting reply silenced the Indian guns.

The man was hit when a mortar bomb fired from the Pakistani side of the border landed near his house in the Pargwal sector, 340 kilometres (210 miles) south of the main city of Srinagar. Due to indiscriminate firing, residents of Loen, Sherry, Kotli and Phuklian were forced to leave their homes.
India’s defence minister told parliament recently that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire over 1,000 times since the agreement, while Pakistan regularly registers complaints of violations by India to a UN mission which monitors the border. “The unprovoked ceasefire violations were started by India at New Kane and two other posts at 05.30am today”.
ISPR told that unprovoked Indian firing in Pachkalian Sector on August 4 martyred 3 civilians and injured 22 others. It said Pakistani troops responded to the Indian fire.
Pakistan Army on Thursday approached United Nations Military Observer Group to protest against India’s unprovoked aggression along Line of Control (LoC) and Sialkot Working Boundary, requesting it to thoroughly investigate into the matter. The injured persons were shifted to Combined Military Hospital.
An Indian television news channel NDTV quoted Danish Rana, a senior police officer in Jammu, as saying their preliminary questioning has revealed that the militant hails from Faislabad in Pakistan.

Two paramilitary soldiers and one suspected rebel were killed in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday after a convoy of paramilitary troops was ambushed in the troubled region, police said.
