He submitted that the wife of the murdered customs officer had suspected Ayyan Ali’s involvement in the case as her spouse had been investigating the currency smuggling case against the fashion model.

“Nothing awful will happen if she stays out for a few more days”, observed Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan while heading a two-judge bench that took up a hurriedly filed petition by the model.

Ayyan Ali is facing the money laundering case and her name has been repeatedly put and omitted from the Exit Control List during the previous year.

Therefore, the order for Ayyan’s arrest should be declared null and void, Khosa said. Otherwise, he feared, the police would arrest his client any time.

Mr Khosa also also requested the court to restrain the federal and Punjab government from harassing the model in any manner whatsoever and taking any adverse step against Ayyan without seeking prior approval of the Supreme Court.
