Palestinian attacks surge during Biden visit to Israel
The victim and owner of the shop pounced on the attacker, seized his weapon and killed him, police said. A pregnant woman, an Israeli Arab and a Palestinian in Israel illegally were among the injured, Channel 2 reported.

After several days in which the violence largely subsided, a series of attacks erupted after Biden arrived in Israel on Tuesday.
Others were shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes or demonstrations. Israeli forces have killed at least 179 Palestinians, 121 of whom Israel says were assailants.
Around 29 Israelis and 170 Palestinians have been killed since October.
Police said that after a situation assessment held by the senior police brass and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, they chose to increase their manpower and patrols across the country as a result of Tuesday’s attacks.
Palestinian attacks continue in Israel as one of the latest stories features a Palestinian attacker who stabbed an Ultra-Orthodox Jew in the neck at a liquor store.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters he does not expect the violence to affect Biden’s itinerary, which includes meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
The spokesman also noted pointedly that Israeli officials had not personally informed Mr. Obama’s team of the prime minister’s change of plans.
The dispute comes ahead of a visit to Israel by US Vice-President Joe Biden.
The terrorist, a 22-year-old Palestinian from Qalqilya, was shot to death by a police force that arrived at the scene.
“At this moment, in time we’re continuing security measures for the [US Vice President Joseph] Biden visit, which is beginning this evening here in Jerusalem, and heightened security continues as long as necessary”, Rosenfeld said.
“They are anxious in Jerusalem that between the time of the election in November and the time that the actual president begins his term of office in January. president Obama might do certain things that the PM won’t like”, Jonathan Rynhold of Israel’s Begin-Sadat Centre for Strategic Studies said.
Three other assaults occurred on Tuesday in addition to the stabbings that killed the American, including two in Jerusalem and one in Petah Tikva near Tel Aviv. But thanks to Obama’s weak Mideast policies, the supposed fresh start led to a barbaric Islamic State caliphate in Iraq and Syria, and more recently to the Palestinian “knife intifada” in Jerusalem beginning last fall.
Zeev Elkin, an Israeli cabinet minister close to Netanyahu denied the Obama administration had been caught off guard, saying Israeli ambassador Ron Dermer had given the White House advance warning the trip might not happen.
Netanyahu has declined an offer to meet Obama at the White House later this month and canceled his trip to Washington, the White House said on Monday.
Israel and the United States have been seeking to move past deep disagreement over the Iran nuclear accord, which Netanyahu strongly opposed, and work out a new 10-year defence aid package.
Palestinians say the violence stems from frustration at almost five decades of Israeli rule over the West Bank and east Jerusalem.
