Palestinian Authority Official Newspaper Blames Israel for Attacks in Paris

Israel says the practice acts as a deterrent.

Clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian demonstrators erupted in a West Bank refugee camp before dawn Monday after Israeli forces arrived to demolish the home of a Palestinian militant, leaving two Palestinians dead.

The Palestinians opened fire at the force and “in response to the immediate danger, forces fired toward the attackers”, the statement said.

The 40-year-old father and 18-year-old son, Yaakov and Netanel Litman, were ambushed and shot dead as they drove near the Jewish settlement of Otniel, south of Hebron, in the bloodiest attack on Israelis in almost a month.

An opinion piece from Sunday’s edition of al-Hayat al-Jadida, the Palestinian Authority’s official daily newspaper, argued that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was responsible for the terror attacks that occurred in Paris on Friday night, which killed at least 129 people and wounded hundreds more, according to an article in the Times of Israel.

“Even if they demolish it, we don’t care”.

“All terrorism must be condemned and fought equally with unwavering determination”, he said, adding that his security forces would assist their French counterparts “in any way possible”.

Three homes were demolished early Saturday in the West Bank city of Nablus and a fourth in a town near Ramallah after Israel accused members of the families living there of attacking Israelis.

An EU official said “The European Union, in line with global law, does not recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the territories occupied by Israel since June 1967, namely the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and does not consider them to be part of Israel’s territory irrespective of their legal status under domestic Israeli law”.

The Palestinian ministry of health reported this week that the number of Palestinian killed by Israeli fire since October 1, have reached 86.

Abbas said: “Our people are deeply shocked and angered, but mostly saddened by these events aimed at hitting civil life in the wonderful city of Paris”.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it appeared that a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance passed by the family and refrained from providing medical assistance.
