Palestinian Children Carry Out Terrorist Stabbing

On Monday, Israeli security forces shot and killed a Palestinian woman at a West Bank checkpoint after she reportedly pulled a knife in an attempt to stab guards.

The unrest has largely consisted of apparent lone-wolf attacks by young Palestinians on Israelis but Israel has accused Hamas of encouraging the violence from its bases in the Gaza Strip and in exile in Qatar.

The attacks marked a return to violence in Jerusalem, which has enjoyed a brief lull amid a two-month wave of unrest engulfing the region.

Initial reports suggested he may have been a 50-year-old Palestinian man who was hit by Israeli crossfire, although a spokesperson for Shaare Zedek Medical Center said they received an Israeli civilian who was lightly injured near Damascus gate.

Moments earlier, a short distance away, two Palestinian boys aged 12 and 13 stabbed a guard on a tram, Samri said.

According to the indictment, Manasra and his cousin Hassan, 15, stabbed two Israelis in an east Jerusalem neighborhood in mid-October.

The latest bloodshed began in mid-September over what the Palestinians allege were Israeli intentions to alter the status quo at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, which is under Jordanian administrative control and where non-Muslims may visit but not pray.

Palestinians were enraged by a video that surfaced on social media showing Manasra lying in the street, his head bloodied, as bystanders curse him and shout “Die!” in Hebrew. The other Palestinians died in clashes between stone-throwers and security forces.

Administrative detention is a sort of imprisonment without trial or charge that allows Israel to incarcerate Palestinians for up to six months. The video made no mention of the preceding attack.

Palestinians are angry at increasing violence by Israeli settlers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and their attacks on Palestinian properties, saying that the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.

In today’s incident, the Israeli Defense Ministry said the woman ignored calls to stop and also warning shots as she walked toward a checkpoint near the Alfei Menashe settlement in the northern West Bank.

It was unclear how Palestinian media obtained the video or who filmed the Israeli investigation.

At the beginning of the video, an Israeli officer is captured on camera shouting and raising his hand threateningly at Manasra.
