Ahead of the meeting, Israel’s new UN Ambassador, Danny Danon, said the Security Council did not need another general discussion about the situation but rather a meeting on the “wild incitement” by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, which, he said, was encouraging a wave of terror attacks against Israelis.
He said: ‘When a Palestinian child returns from school and opens (sic) the television, he doesn’t see Barney or Donald Duck, he sees murderers portrayed as heroes. “When he opens a textbook, he doesn’t learn about math and science, he’s being taught to hate”.
Danon explained that the particular diagram he displayed – featuring the human anatomy – is being taught in schools, according to the worldwide Business Times.
“They are a direct result of Palestinian incitement, deliberately directed to inflame Palestinian children’s minds with hate”.
‘Palestinian leaders have established an incubator to raise children as terrorists’.
“The call for both sides to end incitement equates the acts of a handful of extremists on the very fringes of Israeli society to the state-sanctioned incitement of violence rife within Palestinian society”, Pickles said.
The mosque has been at the root of recent tensions, which have seen attacks, deaths and injuries on both sides.
France has submitted a draft of a presidential statement at the UN Security Council that calls for the deployment of global observers to Jerusalem’s holy sites, notably the Temple Mount, to ensure the status quo is maintained, daily Le Figaro newspaper reported citing French diplomats.
Richard Silverstein who runs Israeli democracy blog Tikun Olam said on Twitter: “Laughable: United Nations amb Danny Danon wants no global presence on Temple Mt coz it would ‘upset status quo!'”
Palestinian health official Ashraf al-Kidra says one Palestinian was killed and two were wounded by the Israeli fire on Friday.
The words come just hours after a Palestinian man posed as a journalist before stabbing and injuring an Israeli soldier.
Various videos posted on multiple social media accounts demonstrate how to stab and snatch a soldier’s weapon, how to cause the most damage in a stabbing attack, which parts of the body to aim for when stabbing a victim, and how to adapt ordinary kitchen knives into deadly attack weapons.

In that time, 31 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, including 14 labeled by Israel as attackers, and the rest in clashes with Israeli troops.
