Palestinian, Jordanian killed after attacking Israelis

Friday’s events followed an incident the day before, when Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian man as he fled a military raid in the village of Beit Ula, near Hebron. The military said late Saturday it was sending hundreds of troops to reinforce security in the area.

It was the second violent incident today, after a 28-year-old man was shot dead in Jerusalem while attempting to stab police officers.

“Ultimately, both this MOU and efforts to advance the two-state solution are motivated by the same core US objective that has been shared by all administrations, Democratic and Republican, over the last several decades – ensuring that Israelis can live alongside their neighbors in peace and security”, Obama said.

After several Israelis were wounded in series of Palestinian terrorist attacks on Friday, the Palestinian Authority condemned the killings of two assailants by Israeli security forces as a crime.

It was the fifth incident of Palestinians attacking Israeli security forces and civilians since Friday after a three-week lull in a almost year-long wave of violence.

That attack came at the Damascus Gate entrance to east Jerusalem’s tourist-heavy Old City, the main entrance for Palestinians.

Previously there had not been an attack in three weeks.

The Palestinian assaults, mainly stabbings, have killed 34 Israelis and two Americans.

Israel claims the attacks are stoked by anti-Israeli incitement among Palestinian officials and on social networks.

The bank is recommending a lightening of restrictions by Israel both in “The West Bank and Gaza”.

“Israel is flagrantly employing a systematic and willful policy of summary executions against the Palestinian people; such provocative acts are in direct violation of global law and conventions”, Ashrawi said.

Ban also hailed former Israeli president Shimon Peres, the last of Israel’s founding fathers, who suffered a major stroke this week.

Ban said Netanyahu’s remarks were “unacceptable and outrageous”, while stressing that the worldwide community “universally views the expansion of settlements as an obstacle to peace”. “The occupation, stifling and oppressive, must end”.

According to Hamas spokesman Sami Abu-Zuhri, the Israeli crimes will never “break the will” of the Palestinians, whose blood will fuel the Aqsa Intifada.
