Palestinian Killed in Clashes With Israeli Forces: Ministry

The Israeli Civil Administration, the governing body of Israel’s occupation in the West Bank, issued a demolition order one month after the school opened because it was near a proposed road expansion, according to a report released by Israeli human rights group B’Tselem.

Al-Kalouti was shot dead by Israeli police in March alongside Abd al-Malak Saleh Abu Kharoub, 19, outside of the Old City after the two opened fire in the area.

“In response to these orders, the Palestinian Ministry of Education made a decision to open the school a week earlier than originally planned”, Lecker said. The military said soldiers fired at the main instigators with live fire and rubber bullets.

The Israeli military said its forces were searching for weapons overnight in Fawwar refugee camp when they came under a rain of rocks and explosives hurled by Palestinians.

Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, Israeli authorities say, with the majority of them from the West Bank.

Al-Ayyam reported that Israeli authorities continuing the intensive demolitioncampaign in the West Bank, with more than nine Palestinian-owned homes demolished in the towns of Sa’ir and Beit Jala, in southern West Bank.

The video was the latest footage filmed during a recent wave of violence that has been widely circulated in both Israeli and Palestinian media.

However, at least half of those who have been killed since October died during protests and clashes and were not armed.

Israel’s hardline defence minister Avigdor Lieberman has a new “carrot and stick” policy for the West Bank that will penalise the hometowns of Palestinian attackers while rewarding others, his ministry said on Thursday (Aug 18).

Qaraqe said that Palestinian children younger than 12 were taken into Israeli custody in violation of human rights and global law. Most countries view the settlements as illegal.
