Palestinian man (21) killed in clashes with Israeli troops in West Bank

A Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers during clashes north of Hebron in the West Bank, the third Palestinian killed on Thursday, amid the ongoing violence in the country.

Yehya Taha was shot in the head by Israeli troops and died later, according to Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Mohammed Awawdeh.

Also in Nablus, Israeli forces impounded eight buses, the owner of the vehicles said.

Later Thursday, Israeli border guards shot and killed a Palestinian attacker wielding a knife near the West Bank city of Nablus.

A Palestinian official, who asked not to be identified, said Kerry had asked Abbas to try to achieve at least a week of calm to persuade Netanyahu to pursue confidence-building measures. No Israelis were injured. The attacker was shot and killed during the attack, police said.

More than 100 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing two-month wave of violence, Palestinian Health Ministry officials told Xinhua. Others have died in clashes with security forces.

The attacks, many of them carried out spontaneously by young Palestinians, have killed 19 Israelis and an American since October 1.

The Israel Defense Forces said that troops uncovered IDF uniforms, weapons and ammunition in the raid and said it was aware of reports of a Palestinian casualty, Haaretz reported.

Yaalon told lawmakers that the project will take a year.
