Palestinian Protesters Set Fire to West Bank Jewish Shrine

“On Monday, in a particularly shocking and horrific attack, two Palestinian teenagers, one of them merely 13 years old, stabbed a 13 year old boy riding his bicycle and an Israeli man who was walking down the street”.

It was set alight with Molotov cocktails by a large group of people overnight, Israeli officials told the website.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lays the blame on the Palestinian leadership, saying it is deliberately inciting its public and stoking religious passions with false claims concerning the Jerusalem holy site. The tomb marks the location of his supposed original burial place.

Abbas has tried to lower the temperature, telling his security commanders that armed attacks on Israelis counter Palestinian interests.

The rhetorical fire has been tragically matched on the ground, as 42 people have been killed in the region in October, the Telegraph reports.

With the eruption of this wave of violence and the death of innocent Israeli civilians, the response – or lack thereof – from world leaders is deplorable.

Protests have erupted repeatedly along the Israel-Gaza border in recent weeks, as part of the upswing in violence during this period.

Many Jews believe it to be the final resting place of the biblical Joseph, while Muslims believe that an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yussef (Joseph) Dawiqat was buried there two centuries ago.

“We utterly deplore this violation of press privilege and call on local Palestinian media organizations to immediately verify all media credentials to ensure there are no violations”, the statement said.

Hours before the attack in Nablus, Mr Netanyahu called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to stop what he said was incitement to violence.

It’s often young Palestinians who may be acting out alone or after being recruited or at least encouraged via social media, Israeli authorities have said.

Palestinian police dispersed the crowd and firefighters extinguished the blaze before Israeli security forces arrived.

He added that around 30 others were wounded, “among them 14 shot with live ammunition”, and were moved to hospitals across Gaza. UNRWA intends to stay in business until as numerous 5 million so-called “refugees” can return “home” from Jordan where they are already citizens of that Palestinian majority country and from Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The site is located in an area under Palestinian self-rule and visits by Jews are coordinated between Palestinian security forces and Israeli troops.

Seven Israelis have been killed and dozens wounded in a series of Palestinian stabbings and shootings.

Numerous Palestinians involved in stabbing attacks in the past month came from east Jerusalem, the sector of the city captured by Israel in 1967 and sought by the Palestinians as a future capital.

In the meantime, Israel has forged ahead with the construction of Jewish settlements in the West Bank, which cut crisscrossing furrows through Palestinian territory.
