Palestinian rams auto into Israeli soldiers, shot dead – army
A spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told Xinhua that soldiers shot at the 19-year-old, identified by Palestinian media outlets as Mahmoud al-Jawabreh, as he was about to throw a firebomb at the forces in clashes on Route 60 in the West Bank.

A Palestinian was killed today by Israeli police who claimed he rammed his auto into a group of Israelis in a bus stop near a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank. After the restrictions were implemented, four Israelis were killed in two attacks blamed on Palestinians.
Also on Thursday, Israeli troops seized eight public transportation buses in the West Bank city of Nablus, according to drivers at the Al Tamimi company.
Five soldiers were wounded in a car-ramming attack near Hebron early Friday afternoon, initial reports indicate.
A Palestinian man was shot dead on Thursday morning as he tried to carry out a stabbing attack at the Tapuach junction in the West Bank.
The officer told the website that he believed it is “a limited uprising, in which the Palestinians are aiming to change the existing situation”, and that he believes that the current wave of terror will continue for two further months. At least 20 Israelis have been killed in a series of near-daily stabbings, shootings and car-ramming attacks since October 1.
Despite heightened security, according to a senior military officer, the army has proposed easing restrictions on Palestinians and providing ammunition to Palestinian security forces to help ease tensions and avert attacks by militants.
This has included a significant increase in the number of troops deployed to the West Bank, particularly the Gush Etzion and Hebron regions, which have taken over from East Jerusalem as focal points for the violence. “We intend to build a more massive fence similar to the fence on the Egyptian border”.
Abbas accused the Israeli government of derailing all opportunities over the last 22 years to achieve peace with the Palestinians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he opposes confidence-building gestures to the Palestinians until the violence subsides.

Security forces responded to young people throwing stones and petrol bombs with live fire and tear gas. Palestinians also accuse Israel of using excessive force in suppressing violence.
