As per the initial reports, the IDF forces carried out the fire at the assailants once she drew a knife during a security check, subsequently succumbing to her injuries.
The Palestinian health ministry also confirmed the death, identifying the girl as 17-year-old Kilzar Mohd Abdulhaleem al-Owiwi from Hebron.
The stabbing incident occurred in Hebron, a flashpoint during the last five months of violence, in which Palestinians have carried out near-daily attacks, mainly stabbings.
A Palestinian protester tries to hammer a hole through the Israeli barrier that separates the West Bank town of Abu Dis from Jerusalem, during clashes with Israeli troops October 28, 2015.
The soldier was lightly wounded. Police said they were inspired by the attack the previous day in which three young Palestinians stabbed and killed a 19-year old rookie border policewoman and seriously wounded another.
About 850 Israeli settlers live in heavily-guarded enclaves in Hebron, surrounded by tens of thousands of Palestinians.
Ongoing violence since mid-September- stabbings, shootings and car-rammings- have killed 27 Israelis and 157 Palestinians at least.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said that Israel would no longer insist on the exclusion of European Union bodies from peace talks with the Palestinians over a two-state solution to the Middle East peace process. The society reiterated that the Palestinian prisoner remained in critical condition, slamming Israel for failing to make serious steps in his case and holding Israeli authorities “completely responsible” for al-Qiq’s life.
