JERUSALEM (AP) – Palestinians carried out three stabbing attacks against Israelis and police in Jerusalem on Monday and two of the attackers were shot dead, Israeli police said, as a wave of violence continued.

Recent days have also seen frequent clashes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem between Palestinian youth and Israeli security forces, who typically respond with teargas, rubber-coated bullets and live fire.
And with unrest threatening to spiral into a full-scale intifada, or uprising, a retaliatory Israeli air strike in Gaza overnight killed a pregnant Palestinian woman and her toddler. The Gaza border has been largely calm since the 50-day summer 2014 war between Israel and the Islamic militant group Hamas, which rules the coastal territory.
The Israeli military said it was targeting Hamas weapons manufacturing facilities in response to earlier rocket fire toward Israel.
In a second incident at lunchtime, a woman was shot and reportedly killed close to the police headquarters in the city.
A Palestinian protester uses a sling to return a tear gas canister fired by Israeli troops during clashes near the Jewish settlement of Bet El, near the West Bank city of Ramallah, October 11, 2015.
Two young Palestinian men carried out knife attacks near Jerusalem’s Old City on Saturday in which several police officers and other Israelis were hurt, according to police.
An Israeli Arab stabbed and wounded four Jews after ramming his auto into them near the northern kibbutz of Gan Shmuel on Sunday, police said.
The Israeli army revealed that two soldiers were hit by the auto, with one of them seriously injured, and two civilians were stabbed.
The West Bank has been increasingly tense, with near-daily violent demonstrations.
After a policeman told 31-year-old Israa Jaabis to stop, she shouted “Allah Akbar” (God is greatest) and blew up a gas cylinder in her vehicle, security forces said.
Addressing his Cabinet Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country was battling a “wave of terror” fueled by “systematic, untrue incitement” by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and the Islamic Movement in Israel.
The police officer was unharmed in the clash, Sabri said.
The attack near the kibbutz was the 15 stabbing of Israelis since October 3, but the first by an Arab Israeli to cause injury-rather than by Palestinians from east Jerusalem or the West Bank.
Netanyahu said it amounted to clear incitement to violence and has asked the attorney general to open a criminal investigation against Zoabi. Hundreds of other Palestinians were wounded in the clashes in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, the Red Crescent said.
At the start of the month, Palestinians shot two Israeli settlers to death in front of their children in the West Bank.
