Palestinian teens stab Israeli guard

The Israeli Defense Ministry said the woman ignored calls to stop and also warning shots as she walked toward a checkpoint near the Alfei Menashe settlement in the northern West Bank. A few terrorists, killed by Israeli security forces and police either during or in the immediate aftermath of their attacks, are revered as shahids (martyrs) and have had streets and squares named in their honor.

An Israeli tramway security guard is wheeled on a stretcher at the scene of an assault at a tramway station in the settler neighborhood of Pisgat Zeev in East Jerusalem on November 10, 2015.

The Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority, he said, “will not allow Israel to divide Al-Aqsa, which is a part of our Muslim heritage and will remain so”.

The guard suffered minor injuries, and the woman was shot and wounded. Police said the other was taken into custody.

The train attack was reminiscent of a similar case from October when two young Palestinian cousins stabbed two Israelis in east Jerusalem.

The council blamed the Israeli government for these heinous crimes, stressing the illegitimacy and illegality of the settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, which violate global law, the worldwide legitimacy’s resolutions and the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Meanwhile, another attempted attack was under way at Damascus Gate in the Old City, where a man ran toward two guards with a knife in his hands.

Since mid-September, 12 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, majority stabbings. The guard shot one assailant and passengers subdued the second one.

On the agenda of the White House talks, Mr Netanyahu said, is “possible progress with the Palestinians, or at least, stabilising the situation when it comes to them”. The other, also from east Jerusalem, was arrested.

On Monday, Palestinian media released footage showing Jerusalem police questioning Ahmed.
