The joint operation by the military, the police, and the Shin Bet security agency captured seven weapons workshops, according to a statement. No injuries were reported on either side.
According to the Israeli army, forces uncovered over the past eight months 29 factories, seized 49 weapon manufacturing machines and over 300 firearms, and arrested 140 Palestinians suspected of trafficking and manufacturing weapons. It said he replied to a general question about the worldwide community’s failure to define Israeli practices against Palestinians as terrorism.
Also last week, Israel arrested senior Hamas official has been arrested near the West Bank city of Ramallah. Israel says the weapons’ crackdown is making it harder for Palestinian assailants to acquire guns. “And we’ve said repeatedly such moves are not consistent with Israel’s stated desire to achieve a two-state solution”. 89% of Palestinians said Israeli Jews are untrustworthy and 68% of Israeli Jews said Palestinians can not be trusted.
The poll published Monday found high levels of mistrust, particularly among Israelis: 65 percent of Israelis fear Palestinians, while only 45 percent of Palestinians fear Israelis.
When asked to chose among four potential mediators, an Arab forum – of Saudi Arabia Egypt and Jordan – was the most popular among both Israeli Jews and Palestinians, with 26 percent and 22 percent support respectively. Hermann attributes the imbalance in part to Israelis’ lack of contact with Palestinians, rhetoric from Israeli leaders, and media reports.
Tamar Hermann, an Israeli political scientist who conducted the survey with Palestinian pollster Khalil Shikaki, said that under the current circumstances, the results were “not amazingly encouraging”, but also “not discouraging”.

The survey interviewed 1,270 Palestinians and 1,184 Israelis in June, and had a margin of error of 3 percentage points. But 12% of Israelis polled said that Israel wants to annex Judea and Samaria and evict Palestinians from the area.
