The Palestinians claim all of the West Bank for part of a future state.
Also in Nablus, Israeli forces impounded eight buses, the owner of the vehicles said. Many of the Palestinians involved in the current round of violence have come from there.
Israel has said the unrest stems from incitement by Palestinian leaders.
The military proposed releasing Palestinian security prisoners who have been jailed in Israel for decades, increasing the number of Palestinians allowed to work inside Israel and giving additional weapons to Palestinian security forces. “He said a calm should be brought in place so other issues can then be discussed”, the Palestinian official said.
