Palestinians shot dead after alleged stabbings

33 year old Muhammad al-Qiq is a Palestinian journalist with a wife and child living in the Israeli occupied West Bank of Palestine who is dying in a hospital bed in an Israeli hospital in Afula.

In the first attack, a man stabbed and wounded two policemen outside Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate before they shot him dead.

A spokeswoman for the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem said they received two men in their 20s suffering stab wounds, both of them in stable condition.

Barely twelve hours later there was another stabbing attack at Damascus Gate, one of the ancient entrances to Jerusalem’s Old City and a continual flashpoint for violence.

Since October, stabbings, shootings and auto rammings by Palestinians have killed 28 Israelis and a USA citizen, according to a count by the AFP news agency. Israeli security forces have killed at least 167 Palestinians, 110 of whom Israel says were assailants, while most others were shot dead during violent anti-Israeli protests.

Both Palestinians were shot and critically injured by an armed civilian present at the scene, al-Samri said.

Earlier Friday, mourners gathered for the funeral of an off-duty soldier, 21-year-old Sgt. Tuvia Yanai Weissman, who was stabbed to death the day before by two Palestinian teenagers who attacked him and another shopper in a West Bank supermarket.

The special Cooredinator Secritary-General for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov has expressed, Thursday, concern over the violence broke out in October 2015, between Palestinians and Israelis, APS reported.

Toner condemned the attack and said terrorism has no justification. It is located in the West Bank, territory Israel captured from Jordan in the 1967 war that the Palestinians demand for part of their future state, a position that has global support. Israel says young Palestinians are being incited to violence by their leaders and by Islamist groups calling for Israel’s destruction.
