Sarah Palin says Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has “disrespected the American people” by not putting his support behind the presumptive Republican presidential nomineee. “We shouldn’t sweep it under the rug without addressing it. That would be to our detriment in the fall”, said Ryan, speaking in an interview that had been scheduled before Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee.

Trump: “I’m going to get along great with Congress. Paul Ryan, I don’t know him well, but I’m sure I’m going to get along great with him”.
Asked whether Trump could unilaterally remove Ryan as chairman, RNC spokeswoman Lindsay Walters told CBS News, “The convention officers are elected through the adoption of the report of the committee on permanent organization”.
Trump today said simply that Palin is “very much a free agent”.
Ryan attempted to walk back his previous comments on Trump, clarifying that he could support him in the future, but just “not at this point”.
Questioning Mr Trump’s conservative credentials, some Republicans are making demands that are unheard of for the party’s standard-bearer.
Armstrong Williams, a longtime Carson political adviser, reached out to Ryan’s team to request time for the retired neurosurgeon to connect with the speaker, two senior GOP sources familiar with the discussions said Monday. Jeb Bush said Friday he would not vote for Trump.
