There was a scuffle between the marshals and the YSRC members, as the latter tried to drag down the marshals from the podium, even as a couple of Opposition members, including K. Srinivasulu and A. Ramakrishna Reddy, climbed on the Legislature Secretary’s table and threw papers at the Speaker.

The members of the principal opposition party, insisting on a discussion on the special status issue, first stormed into the podium and later tried to rush to the speaker’s chair. As the scuffle went on, a member of YSRC broke the mike of the speaker, creating utter chaos in the House. As the members and the marshals jostled, the railing of the Speaker’s podium was damaged.
YSR Congress party MLAs reached out in to the well and started shouting slogans. This forced adjournment of the House to Saturday. The House was adjourned twice on Thursday morning as YSRCP members disrupted proceedings demanding a discussion on the Special Category Status to AP which Speaker K Siva Prasada Rao declined.
Legislative Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said the government on its own agreed to make a statement in the House on the announcement made by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley extending a special financial package to AP.
Replaying on this YSR Congress MLA from Panganur assembly Peddireddi Ramachandra demanded the discussion without the Chief Minister’s N. Chandrababu Naidu’s statement and this led to a more chaotic situation in the house. When they reconvened around 2 pm, the Speaker condemned the behaviour of opposition members and adjourned the House for the day.

YSRC members demanded a discussion immediately and tried to surround the Speaker’s chair and the marshals prevented them from doing so.
