Pandora’s Thumbprint Radio combines all your interests into a personal mega

While this functionality helps the algorithms know what kind of songs and artists the user prefers, the platform is now bringing all the tracks that got a thumbs-up together in a new radio station so that the user can hear all their favorite songs. Thumbed up songs across country, EDM and metal? The station will continue to adapt as you give more thumbs up to individual tracks. Pandora, on the other hand, features a thumbs-up icon.

To access your own Thumbprint Radio station, go to pdora.co/thumbprintradio or search for “Thumbprint Radio” in the mobile app. Not a problem – Pandora’s musicologists have created an experience that will seamlessly guide listeners through the wide variety of their favorites, while weaving in new music discovery along the way.

Thumbprint Radio doesn’t count against the 100 stations you’re allowed to create within the service, so you won’t have to delete another station to make room for it. Although it might play some random song you loved 10 years ago, it will also include new songs you might like too. Stations are endless and constantly evolving, based in real-time off of each listener’s engagement across Pandora. Listeners must have three stations with at least four thumbs on each to have their own personal Thumbprint Radio station.

Pandora listeners can also share their personalized Thumbprint Radio station with their friends to give them insight into their unique musical tastes.

Pandora’s Chief Product Officer, Chris Phillips says it’s better to think of Thumbprint stations as “living stations” rather than set playlists, with each one getting more personalized over time. This can be shared instead of the user’s latest “Best of” playlist update.

I’ve been a fan of Pandora’s streaming music service since I was first introduced to it somewhere back in 2009.
