Panthers All-Pro LB Thomas Davis suffers injury to right arm

Things went from ideal to awful real quick for the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, when veteran linebacker Thomas Davis appeared to suffer a very serious arm injury during the NFC Championship. The Panthers made it to the Super Bowl with a blowout win over Arizona.

“It was kind of tough for him to not get an opportunity to come back in during the second half, but he told me he was going to be ready [for the Super Bowl]”, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said.

“I’ll talk to the trainers”, Davis added while holding his right arm with his left.

Attempting to make something out of nothing, Arizona Cardinals tight end Darren Fells hurdled into Davis, and it was immediately clear the latter had hurt his arm.

Davis, a Pro Bowler in his 11th National Football League season, said he broke his right forearm.

FOX’s broadcast panned the camera over the Panthers’ sideline, which displayed Harper without his helmet and an ice pack on his eye.
