Running back Ryan Mathews aggravated a pre-existing groin injury Sunday. The Eagles got two first downs, then punted the ball away. Maybe the bye week will serve the team well in getting the offense on the same page and rebuilding any sort of confidence across the field. But how could not be?

On the final, pointless play of the game, with time already expired and the Eagles trailing by 11 points, Bradford rolled out of the pocket near midfield, running left to stay a step ahead of an oncoming lineman and bent himself almost double to sling a pass downfield where a cluster of players awaited. Carolina is 6-0 for the first time ever.
Carolina answered with Newton’s 2-yard touchdown run completing a quick 60-yard march. Before Sunday, Philly had held opponents to 94.2 rushing yards per game and hadn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher in 18 games, according to Paul Domowitch of Philly.com.
Matt Tobin moved from right guard to left tackle, and Dennis Kelly stepped in at right guard. Bradford and the Eagles had the ball at the Panthers 11-yard line he recorded his third sack for a six yard loss and the ball was stripped but Philadelphia recovered.
Mathews gained 97 yards on six carries.
Darren Sproles finally reemerged in the passing game a bit, catching five passes for 31 yards.
Zach Ertz caught five balls for 63 yards, but had one of the Eagles’ drops. Coming out of a timeout, the best they could do was a screen to Huff, who lost two yards.
Kendricks was in on seven tackles, and also picked up a sack in his return. Jonathan Stewart, who had two touchdowns last week against Seattle, ran for 125 yards on 24 carries.
There was something missing in the New York Giants’ offense in the second half against Philadelphia. Ginn beat Carroll, and caught the ball down by the goalline, but Carroll was able to wrestle the ball out and create a turnover that prevented the Panthers from taking a 14-0 lead.
A player isn’t carted off the field for a minor injury and this injury is a serious blow to an all ready thin Eagles offensive line.
