Panthers’ Jagr gets 732nd goal, Barkov scores in shootout
Jagr had been tied with Marcel Dionne, but his power-play goal at 19:48 of the first period in Sunday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks means just three players in National Hockey League history have lit the lamp more than he has.

Brandon Pirri also scored for Florida in the shootout.
The loss was Vancouver’s fourth in the first five games of a six-game road trip that concludes Tuesday night in Tampa Bay.
Jared McCann scored in the shootout for Vancouver, but Roberto Luongo stopped Sven Baertschi to seal the win.
Tied at 2, each team traded goals 31 seconds apart in the second. The Canucks struck first when Jannik Hansen tipped an Alex Biega shot past Florida goalie Robert Luongo at the 6:32 mark. “I started with great players in Pittsburgh and I’m going to finish here with great players”.
The Canucks are now 12-14-9 on the season, tied for second in the Pacific Division.
The Canucks, though, quickly regained the lead, with Vrbata circling a goal-mouth pile and putting a backhander past Howard at 5:33. Besides Jagr, the Panthers also got the first goal of the season by left winger Shawn Thornton, the 10th for center Vincent Trocheck and the eighth for defenseman Aaron Ekblad. Horvat fed a nice Pass to Baertschi, who fought off a check by Florida defenceman Willie Mitchell before roofing a shot past Luongo.
The Panthers tied the score 2-2 on their power play when Jagr, camped out to the right of goal, received a pass and showed his still-quick hands, beating Miller to his glove side.
Daniel Sedin scored his team-leading 15th goal of the season for the Canucks.

The Canucks played their second straight game without captain Henrik Sedin, who is out with a lower-body injury. Jagr found himself all alone in front of Vancouver’s net, as Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov dug out the puck from the left half-wall. The Panthers played the first of a six-game homestand and does not go on the road until January 5 when they visit Buffalo.
