Panthers Player Josh Norman Fined $26K for Offenses During Giants Game
Beckham will miss the game Sunday night at Minnesota.

Beckham is not allowed to attend practices or have any contact with the Giants, apart from arrangements for off-site medical procedures or physical therapy, until his reinstatement on Monday. He will be reinstated Monday.
NFL VP of officiating Dean Blandino said that he spoke with an official at the height of the personal foul battles between NY and Carolina, and told him that the league would support the ejection of Odell Beckham Jr., and possibly Josh Norman as well. Beckham appealed his suspension and a hearing was held Wednesday.
“I owe some people an apology”, second-year player Beckham said in a statement issued by the club after the ruling.
An altercation with Ball was caught on video, but clearly wasn’t an excuse for Beckham conducting himself so wildly during the game.
“After the game, putting all the pieces together I think it may have had an impact in the way Odell was acting”, Wing said. “That is a responsibility I accept and take seriously”. He’s a star. I wonder why people are going in that direction. Norman’s wallet will be $26,000 lighter thanks to some of his own antics during the game, including striking Beckham in the head. On Tuesday though, he banned bats at games and denied that his players directed any gay slurs at Beckham.
“Acts that jeopardize the safety of players or expose them to unnecessary risk can not be tolerated”.
Per his rights under the collective bargaining agreement, Beckham appealed the suspension Wednesday in front of jointly appointed appeals officer James Thrash at the National Football League offices in New York City. Sportsmanship and respecting the game are as important as blocking, running routes, catching the football.
Wing said that during the pregame warmups, he saw a Panthers player, who according to various reports has been identified as Panthers defensive back Marcus Ball, a practice squad player, cross the 50-yard line, baseball bat in hand, and approach Beckham, though never swinging the bat at the receiver. His absence could be a huge factor for a team barely in playoff contention.
On one drive, Beckham was flagged twice for unnecessary roughness and Norman also drew an unnecessary roughness penalty.
Beckham and Norman, who the Giants said had taunted the receiver, were involved in several skirmishes during the game in a showdown match-up of the two Pro Bowl players. Wing talked to reporters about the incident for the first time Wednesday.

After the game Coughlin said he had wrestled with a “strong consideration” to bench Beckham for his outlandish behavior.
