It’ll be called NickToons and it’s described as Who Framed Roger Rabbit with Nickelodon characters.
According to Deadline, Jared Hess is on board to direct the film, and will also serve as writer alongside his wife, Jarusha Hess. Real Monsters, Rugrats, The Angry Beavers, and Ren & Stimpy. TV movie, Nickelodeon has gone one step further with the nostalgia – it’s announced a cinematic feature film.
Mary Parent and Cale Boyter from Disruption Entertainment will produce the film.
NickToons promises to have the vibe of that scene in The Avengers when The Hulk arrives to complete the line-up, except this supergroup will likely consist of people like Tommy Pickles, Nigel Thornberry and Doug.
Jerusha Hess’ writing credits include Napoleon Dynamite (the film and short-lived animated series), Nacho Libre and Gentlemen Broncos.
