Sources also said they will once again reconstruct the sequence of events after talking to Tiwari’s wife, father and mother, who were reportedly present at home at the time of the incident. They found him lying unconscious on the floor. He was then immediately taken to the hospital where the doctors could not revive him.

Though investigators are yet to zero in on the exact reason, police are connecting Tiwari’s alleged suicide to various circumstances, including personal and family issues.

The 32-year-old’s suspected cause of death has since been given as asphyxia. But his death is shrouded in a mystery of its own. Gaurav has been called in to host several programs on paranormal research – including one reality TV show on MTV India. “He told his wife a month ago that a negative force was pulling him towards it”, his father was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

‘Prayers for you and your Wife, family and friends’.

Tiwari had visited more than 6,000 haunted locations and investigated hauntings, UFO abductions and mysterious creatures, read his company’s website. “He also acted in two movies, 16 December and Tango Charlie”, said a colleague who did not wish to be named.

“Tiwari’s sudden death has left not just the family but members of the paranormal society shocked”, said the colleague. He experienced phenomena like poltergeists and heard disembodied “whispers” in the apartment he was sharing with four other people. The group vacated the house as they struggled to explain the goings-on, but the paranormal had already seized Tiwari’s imagination.
