Pardew puts top-flight status ahead of new Palace deal

Palace have not won a league game since winger Yannick Bolasie, scorer of four goals in 16 appearances, injured his hip against Stoke City on December 19.

Albion, meanwhile, fell to a 3-1 defeat to Reading in the FA Cup fifth round, which would have come as a blow following a confidence-boosting win over Everton the previous week. “They pay good money for it. As a manager that is acceptable, to take criticism”.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is open to Emmanuel Adebayor staying at the club beyond the summer.

Pulis hopes Jonny Evans will be fit following a hamstring injury while Gareth McAuley (hamstring) and Craig Dawson (ankle) have returned to training.

“He knows how to keep teams in the Premier League and he will do it again this season”. “One win will settle everybody down and that is really all we need”.

Despite reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, Palace have slid down the table to 13th before tomorrow’s visit to Tony Pulis’ West Brom after failing to win in nine Premier League games.

“Our focus is on these next three games”. Palace follow the Baggies clash with games against Sunderland and Liverpool before a trip to Reading on March 12.

Last Meeting: West Brom recovered from a terrible first half showing to rescue a point against Crystal Palace in October 2014.

“They [the contract talks] have progressed to a level where we are probably agreed”, Pardew said. “When I get this team over the line, then I will sit down and finalise it and I won’t do that until I do”.

“It’s a game that’s pivotal to a degree”. “Tony knows our players well and will know some of the characteristics which may give him a slight advantage”.

Pardew also revealed his pleasure at his team’s performance during last week’s cup win at Tottenham, and he feels they deserved more praise for their win.
