Pardew thrilled to see Palace ambition rewarded

“You must be sick of us” the away fans sang as Crystal Palace were again a thorn in the flesh of Liverpool taking all the three points at Anfield.

“When Palace scored I saw many people leave”.

Alan Pardew’s side earned their third consecutive victory over the Reds thanks to goals in either half from Yannick Bolasie and – in the 82nd minute – lifelong Liverpool fan Scott Dann. “I would prefer to lose 4-1 and keep him in the team”, Klopp said.

“I felt pretty alone at this moment!”

Palace then nearly found themselves a goal down as a Liverpool corner was met by substitute Dejan Lovren, but his downward header could not squeeze past the Eagles keeper.

“It’s always when you’re really under stress and that’s everything we can learn”.

“That was the worst thing about tonight”, Klopp said.

“I’m just the same as everyone else at the club or Kopite who wants to see us back at the top and bringing the Premier League back to Liverpool”. We have to show that and we didn’t.

“The problem I have is we play 95 minutes and if you are satisfied with 60, it is sometimes enough, sometimes not”, he concluded. We were the better team but for the first 15 minutes we were not on the pitch.

France will have to make do without Mamadou Sakho in the upcoming global friendlies against Germany and England after the Liverpool centre-back was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury.

Winger Jordon Ibe, who put in another good performance following his match-winning goal against Rubin Kazan in the Europa League, admits the result stung.

“If we did the right things in this game, then it would have been a very important game”.

“We went toe-to-toe against Manchester United and got a draw”, he said.

“Of course we could do more – maybe not running more in this moment, but to be more awake from the beginning, to be clearer, to believe more”.

“His goals sums him up because you could see he was going to win that ball, no-one was going to stop him”.

I wouldn’t have said that until I managed him but now I have, I understand how good he is.
