Where is the Turpin family home?
Police said the 17-yer-old girl “appeared to be only 10” because she was so emaciated.
Some of the captives were so malnourished that officers believed all were children, even though seven were over 18.
David Allen Turpin, left, and Louise Anna Turpin, right, are seen in booking photos released by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The school opened in March 2011, and has just six students.
Public records show David Allen Turpin was registered to run the Sandcastle Day School at the premises.
“They were never mean, but the vibe I got was stay in your zone, and we’ll stay in our zone” said neighbour Kimberly Milligan. The children laugh along with the Elvis impersonator, and the couple kisses as their daughters clap.
“They seemed like very nice people”, Trahan said. When she greeted them, Milligan said, “They looked at us like a child who wants to make themselves invisible”.
Their parents, David and Louise Turpin, have been arrested and charged with torture and child endangerment.
Located about a two-hour drive east of Los Angeles, Perris belongs to Riverside County.
A California couple was arrested on Monday after they were found holding 13 of their malnourished children captive.
The children were very pale, Milligan said.
“They only came out at night”, she told the news outlet.
“I thought the kids were home-schooled”, Milligan told the Times.
“When that happens for 20 years, you don’t think it’s abnormal”, Flores said.
David’s parents, James and Betty Turpin, who live in West Virginia, claim that they have not seen the family in four or five years. The grandparents also said they had no friends or community they were aware of.
Social workers had never visited either, said Susan von Zabern, director of the county Department of Public Social Services.

A joint Facebook page shows the Turpins, accompanied by their children, renewing their wedding vows in Las Vegas. In the picture, they were surrounded by ten female kids that wore matching purple colored dresses. Three male children stood behind them wearing suits.
