Parents say popular toy is getting stuck in their kids’ hair

Parents are learning the hard way that a popular, harmless-looking children’s toy actually causes a lot of pain. With an adorable name like Bunchems, these cute and colorful toys seem impossible for kids to resist.

Parent’s have been taking to Instagram and Amazon to share their stories. “I can’t feel my arms now after attempting to pull this spawn from hell “toy” that matted itself into her hair like nothing ever witnessed before”, said one father, Ethan Benoit, after he said he spent two-and-a-half hours removing 14 of the balls from his daughter’s hair. The solution involves using conditioner or olive oil to gently slide the Bunchems down the strand.

The removal process involved a four hours of effort that included a whole jar of vegetable oil, heated coconut oil, forks and eight sets of hands, she says. There’s nothing like a Christmas toy’s fall from grace to remind us just how unpredictable the latest viral toy can be. One parent warned to not buy them for your kid unless you hate your child. If your child is one of the many begging for Bunchems, there is good news – the toy hasn’t been recalled, so it’s still safe for use. Unfortunately, they also easily stick to hair.
