Paris Attacks: Eagles of Death Metal Will Return to Bataclan

In the emotional chat the band, who all made it out alive, have vowed to go back to Paris to finish off their gig: ‘I can not wait to get back to Paris Our friends went there to see rock “n” roll and died, I’m going to go back there and live, said co-founder Josh Homme, who was not with the band that evening.

Galindo said he immediately went backstage with Hughes to find the lead singer’s girlfriend Tuesday Cross, but when they came out of the dressing room they were met by one of the shooters who stumbled when he attempted to pull his gun on Hughes, allowing him to escape. “It went on for, you know, 10 [or] 15 minutes – it just didn’t stop, and then it would stop and there was this sense of relief, and then it would start up again”.

“At first I thought it was the PA cracking up”, Galindo added.

Speaking to Vice founder Shane Smith, the band told their terrifying stories from the night of November 13 on which gunmen stormed their concert at the Bataclan music hall venue, leaving 89 dead and over 200 injured.

The group have described – in detail – what happened on the night of the attacks.

Eventually most members of the band and crew ran off the stage and down stairs to an exit when one gunman stopped to reload.

And Dorio explained a bullet missed him by inches: “Gunpowder hit my nose”.

Despite the attacks, Eagles of Death Metal are not slowing down.

Jesse, 43, said: “He never called for help until he bled out as he didn’t want anyone else to get hurt”.

The interview is certainly heavy and heartbreaking, but the message of hope and unity expressed by the band, alongside the deep sense of love they have for each other and their fans, is both handsome and inspirational in the wake of this tragedy.

“I saw two guys out front and that might be just the most terrible thing ever, them just relentlessly shooting into the audience”, he told Vice.

‘We don’t really have a choice.
