Paris attacks: Hundreds flee Place de la République after false alarm
In less than one minute the square was emptied as people rushed away.

Paris remains on edge almost 48 hours after seven terrorists killed 132 people and injured hundreds more.
The Associated Press tweeted: “Panic breaks out at scene of one of the Paris attacks, where police enter with drawn guns”. “We hadn’t heard something and all of the individuals we questioned hadn’t heard something both”, a police official on the sq. advised Reuters.
A police official at the square said: “There was crowd movement apparently with no reason”.
A manhunt for 26-year old Abdeslam Salah, born in Belgium, is under way, with the public asked for information – but warned not to approach him.
A Winnipeg woman who is living in Paris is taking cover at her friend’s apartment following panic at the city’s Place de la République.
“We were just singing along with a group of young people when everyone started to run, so we ran too”, said a 23-year-old who gave her name only as Laurine.
The sounds came from the Place de la Republique located near-by.
Davies said there were reports this morning’s scare was a “false alarm”.
Francesca Gazzino, an Italian tourist, said: “This (the attacks) is unbelievable”.
