Paris Attacks: Mastermind Identified As Top ISIS Executioner

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve says 168 locations across France have been raided overnight, and 104 people have been placed under house arrest in the past 48 hours. His father and 34-year-old brother have been taken into custody by police and a source close to the probe said investigators are now searching the homes of other friends and relatives of the killer.

The Paris attacks that killed at least 129 people continued to prompt raids and arrests in Europe and airstrikes in Syria on Monday.

Seven terrorists were killed during the attacks, with a lot of them blowing themselves up, Molins said, correcting earlier reports of eight dead assailants.

Speaking on his way into a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Brussels, Mr Flanagan said that there are “a small number of people in Ireland whose behaviour and activities are being monitored and are continuing to be monitored”.

The jets launched from sites in Jordan and the Persian Gulf, in co-ordination with United States forces. Police in Molenbeek arrested another brother, Mohamed, but freed him Monday without charge. It has not yet been confirmed whether the man arrested was Salah Abdeslam.

Two of those detained were with the key suspect Salah Abdeslam in Friday’s attacks, when they were stopped by police at the France-Belgium border.

Authorities also identified two more of the attackers, one of them a 28-year-old Frenchman already charged in a terrorism investigation in 2012. They went on to say that two of the suicide bombers were French citizens who lived in Belgium.

It was revealed that one of the suicide bombers who blew himself up in the Bataclan music hall had featured in a previous terrorism investigation, but slipped through the net.

The Iraqi dispatch, which was obtained by the AP, provided no details on when or where the attack would take place, and a senior French security official told the AP that French intelligence gets these kinds of warnings “all the time” and “every day”.

But ministry officials said they are not sure whether the holder of the passport was the person who carried out the attacks.

An official was reported to have said that Omar Ismail Mostefai was identified as a possible terror suspect in October 2014, with French authorities allegedly alerted in December 2014 and in June 2015.

Since 2012, he said, al Qaeda had been “trying to talent spot” Western jihadists on the battlefields of Syria for use in potential operations against the West, while ISIS had appeared more focused on state building.

“I would invite those in Europe who try to change the migration agenda we have adopted – I would like to remind them to be serious about this and not to give in to these basic reactions that I do not like”, Juncker added.

Abdeslam rented the black Volkswagen Polo used by the hostage-takers. On Monday, Belgian police in balaclavas, gas masks and body armor raided Abdeslam’s suspected hideout in the Molenbeek district of Brussels but came out empty-handed.

Earlier today, police found an abandoned vehicle containing AK47 rifles on the outskirts of Paris.

Abaaoud is also said to have recruited his 13-year-old brother to join him in Syria and become one of IS’s youngest fighters.

“As a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ally, we have worked together to bring about pressure on ISIL even as we also try to bring about a political transition inside of Syria that can relieve the suffering of so many people and eliminate the environment in which ISIL can operate”, Obama said.
