Britain’s Andy Murray reacts after losing a point against France’s Richard Gasquet during their quarterfinal match of the BNP Masters tennis tournament at the Paris Bercy Arena, in Paris, France, Friday, November 6, 2015.

With the win, Murray has also recorded his seventh overall victory against No. 10 seed Gasquet.

Murray’s second double fault gave Goffin a way back into the next game but a netted backhand return by the 24-year-old on a Murray second serve and then an ace put the Scot on the verge of a 4-0 lead.

“I got a little stiff in my lower back”, the Briton said afterwards. Murray closed the second set with the final score of 6-0, and he issued to Goffin the challenge for the Davis Cup final.

“It’s maybe not going to be the same as Davis Cup, but it’s pretty good practice for that”.

Britain’s Andy Murray returns the ball to Croatia’s Borna Coric during their match at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 indoor tennis tournament in Paris Wednesday. He broke Chardy three times on seven break chances in the set after Chardy had saved ten of eleven break chances through the first two sets.

It was a tight encounter in the second set as both players were able to hold serve, but the breakthrough finally came in the eighth game when Ferrer broke to take a 5-3 lead.

Anderson fought back, however, and Nadal needed to save six break points in a grueling fourth game lasting 12 minutes.

“That’s something I’ll need to make sure of for the next match”.

Djokovic booked his spot in the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 7-5 win over 14th-seeded Gilles Simon that extended the Serb’s unbeaten streak to 19 matches and 26 sets in a row.

13th seeded John Isner slipped past Aljaz Bedene 6-3, 7-6 (3).

Nishikori edged the opening tie-break and it looked like he could do the same in the second, only for Chardy to save two match points en route to levelling the score. Djokovic keeps pushing, especially with the forehand and on 5-3 he converts the first set point.
