Paris Motor Show 2016: Citroen CX concept previewed
Citroën has introduced a brand new concept vehicle called CXPerience exactly a month ahead of its official debut during the Paris Auto Show.

“The whole Style team pulled in the same direction to create a new executive saloon with global reach, breaking with conventional codes to express the brand’s values: Optimistic, Human and Smart”, said Alexandre Malval, Citroen Design Director.
Measuring in at 4.85-metres long, two metres wide, and 1.37-metres tall, the CXperience adopts a “two-box saloon” shape, giving it a profile that looks closer to a station wagon rather than a traditional sedan.
This being a concept, Citroen isn’t too exact with the details of its powertrain, with the transversely mounted petrol-fed engine producing between 110 and 150kW.
The company says the concept, which will be displayed at next month’s Paris show, showcases future Citroëns and demonstrates how the styling of recent smaller cars, such as the C4 Cactus and new C3, can be used on larger models.
Ride quality is only one part of the Citroen Advanced Comfort programme with the other being its interior design that is meant to give occupants a sense of space and comfort. There’s also a single-spoke steering wheel harking back to classic Citroens, along with a number of very cool, three-dimensional design themes.
The headline act is a huge 19-inch rectangular display mounted horizontally on a floating dashboard, incorporating a split-screen function to allow two operations at a time. The eight-speed electric automatic gearbox is placed between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor, while the battery is positioned under the cabin to deliver electric power to the rear wheels.
“The whole Style team pulled in the same direction to create a new executive saloon with worldwide reach, breaking with conventional codes to express the brand’s values: Optimistic, Human and Smart”, said Citroën Design Director, Alexandre Malval, who said the company’s latest concept was inspired by architecture and furnishings.

Speaking about the auto, Linda Jackson, Citroen CEO, said it challenges convention to “express a new vision of executive saloons”. “It also fits in perfectly with the ambitions of the ‘Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme, ‘” said Citroen Chief Executive Officer, Linda Jackson.
