The third edition of the World Cup of Hockey is due to take place 12 years after the second. However, as a lifelong hockey fan, I also remember the World Cup of Hockey tournament (formerly known as the Canada Cup) which was a very popular global tournament that began in 1976 and happened every three to five years after that until 1996, when it took an eight-year hiatus until 2004.
This tournament will give Eichel a great opportunity to play with some of the world’s best as they compete against teams from the USA, Canada, Russia, Sweden, Europe, Czech Republic, and Finland. Those drills help players make quicker decisions in tight situations, and because the talent level throughout this tournament is off the charts, most of the goals scored will be in the dirty areas.
