Parisians enlist #PorteOuverte hashtag to seek, offer safe shelter during attacks
As the explosions rip through the city many persons took the chance to extend a hand to their fellow Parisians.

Several Paris Metro lines have been closed and French president Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency for all of France and closed the borders.
The hashtag has already been tweeted 380,000 times since it started circulating online at around 10am AEDT. #PorteOuverte is showing humanity at its finest as the acts of others have caused much devastation and loss in the city of Love.
THE hashtag #PorteOuverte has begun trending on French social media as residents are opening their homes to fellow frightened citizens. There are also people critiquing the hashtag campaign, noting that it might not be safe to disclose your location during such an event..
Reuters reports there are at least 60 (and may be up to 100) hostages at Le Bataclan concert hall where the Eagles of Death Metal were set to play.

Parisians have opened their homes to each other as the city rallies on one of the darkest days in its history. That hostage situation is now over.
