A parent’s worst nightmare is unfolding in BC this weekend, after an outing to Yoho National Park took a tragic turn.

Relatives and friends have banded together praying for Ahmad, according to a family friend.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on July 22, two boys fell into the water near the Takakkaw Falls Day Use Area near Field, B.C. The other was not.

The search resumed at first light Saturday, and is considered ongoing in the air and on the ground.

Parks Canada with help from RCMP, and local first responders began ground and aerial searches on Friday night, which had to be called off due to darkness.

Officials say the incident is described as a missing persons case.

Yoho National Park is about 200 kilometres west of Calgary and approximately 30 kilometres northwest of Lake Louise.

Parks Canada will continue to regularly monitor the area in the coming weeks as water levels change with the objective of successfully locating the boy.
