Parrot saw son’s murder say parents

Police always say that eyewitnesses are not 100 percent reliable, but officials have a double conundrum with a murder case in Sand Lake, Michigan, with a murder victim’s parrot reportedly having witnessed the crime and telling everyone who will listen who did the deed.

Martin Duram, 45, was shot dead in his MI home in May 2015 while his wife, Glenna, was found with a bullet wound to the head.

The bird, they say, mimicked both Durham and his wife, Glenna, who is listed as a suspect in her husband’s death – at least according to MI state police reports obtained by CNN afficilate WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids.

“I personally think he was there and he remembers it, and he was saying it”. About the video, the parents said that the bird mimicked both Martin and his wife.

If Durham’s pet parrot did indeed hear his last words as he attempted to save his life, it would certainly be a set of circumstances usually only found on “Criminal Minds” or “CSI”. “And if it’s fresh in his mind, he might even say it more now”, she said.

However, she told police that she didn’t kill her husband and doesn’t remember anything from that night. She’s now a suspect in a possible failed murder-suicide.

The case is notable for the fact that it took investigators nearly an hour to realise that Duram’s wife was still alive, reported MLive.

She told the station that she also heard the bird say, “Don’t f-ing shoot”. Officials believe Glenna may have shot Martin five times before turning a gun on herself.

The couple fought often, and Duram’s parents had previously said that it was an argument that had gotten out of hand.

“[Bud] was there to see it all happen and heard it”, she said.

Charles Duram said he “isn’t ready to convict” his daughter-in-law. “Two people that I know, voices that I recognize”, she said.

As of now, Mrs. Duram has no memory of the shooting, nor the three suicide notes she purportedly wrote for unspecified, respective relatives.

His name is Bud, and he’s an African gray parrot in Ensley Township, Mich., with a filthy mouth, according to NBC affiliate WOOD-TV.
