Parsons, fellow ‘Big Bang’ actors top Forbes’ best-paid list

The top four slots on Forbes’ new list of the world’s highest-paid TV actors are occupied by stars of the hit CBS sitcom.

Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Johnny Galecki (Leonard) get $1 million each followed by the token Jew Simon Helberg and the token Indian, Kunal Nayyar.

But Parsons wasn’t the only BBT star to make the list – calculated from June 1, 2015 to June 1, 2016 – as the next three spots were taken by three fellow cast members.

As Forbes points out, the list shows that Hollywood’s wage gap is still going strong-but interestingly enough, the disparity is much smaller between actors and actresses on TV than it is for male and female movie stars. The “Modern Family” actress reportedly earned a jaw-dropping $43 million in the past year, more than any TV actor made. Galecki is at No. 2 with $24 million, followed by Simon Helberg at No. 3 with $22.5 million and Kunal Nayyar at No. 4 with $22 million.

Helberg had a role in “Florence Foster Jenkins” starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, while Nayyar is an author of best-selling memoir “Yes, My Accent Is Real”. “NCIS” actor Mark Harmon came fifth place with earnings of $20 million.

Actor Jim Parsons from “The Big Bang Theory” holds up his Emmy award for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series backstage at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles September 18, 2011.

Forbes’ list of TV actresses, released last week, reaffirms the generous salaries for “Big Bang” stars: Leading lady, Kaley Cuoco placed second on that list, with United States dollars 24.5 million.
